Did you see that nonsense BDA drafted yesterday? Sounds a lot like sour grapes. Year afrer year after year I have been nailing my Pick of the Week. This year my number is 5-1-1. Not to mention I went 3-0 last week. This week I'm back again and I'm goona show you why the cream rises to the top.

What Booger isnt telling you!

For those of you that dont know, let me inform you. The Robnosticator as he likes to call himself, has a real nickname, a name that most of his friends have called him for years. That nickname is "Booger". Booger wants you to believe that he is doing good by focusing on his meaningless pick of the week (his friends know he does a lot more picking all throughout the week, hence the nickname). He is attempting to shift focus away from his miserable record and negative account balance by making it look that he has been right all along, telling you that even though he is 4 foot tall he has a 3 foot dick. Well I am here to tell you dont buy it. His overall record is horrid, and he is actually negative in money. Contrary to Booger, I have had my ups and downs, however, my ups have been way up, and my downs have been pushes with a few god awful weeks. I am still well over .500 winning and well up in cash. Maybe booger would also like to mention that I am undefeated, thats right, UN-DEFEATED in Thursday night picks. As I finish my venting, I leave you with this. You can follow the hype or you can track the picks. Those that track my picks, will see the true prognosticator.

NC State +4 (500)~ yet another home dog game with both teams coming off a bye. The difference is that NC States last game was a loss to East Carolina, hopefully leaving a bitter taste in their mouth. FSU was on quite a hot streak up till the bye week. I think that gave them time to feel good about themselves and take the foot off the gas. NC State comes out fired up at home and plays a close one in less than perfect weather. I also like that FSU always finds a way to fuck one up under the lights. This just may be it.

Alabama -20.5 (500) Bama got stung last week, but they are still a dominant team, at home against Ole Miss Saban will have his guys ready. Mark Ingram runs for two and McElroy throws for two. Dont forget, before last week they where the unquestioned #1 and had they not lost this spread would be higher.

Michigan +3.5 (500) Michigan is now an unrated home dog...Hmmmm last week I thought they were the #18 team. Funny what a loss the Mich State will do. I have watched Iowa a few times, they dont really put the fear of god in me. If they win its by a field Goal. I like the hook to cover.

Arkansas +3.5 (500) I like Mallet and the offense of Arkansas. I think they can win outright. Auburn has been playing to many close games, they eventually will let one slip, and I think its here. Arkansas opened up big but failed to hold a lead against Bama, Auburn may be in the same state, but they aint no Bama. Take the Points and look for an outright win

Utah -21 (500) Honestly, I am riding the hot hand here. Utah has spanked everyone they've played. The level of competition they play against simply cant keep up. Much Like TCU and Boise they deserve to be in the picture.

Nebraska -9 (500) As I mentioned at the beginning of the year dont believe ESPN bullshit. They want to make you believe that Texas has a chance, they dont. Texas got spanked by UCLA! UCLA! Nebraska runs the ball and stops the run. Texas cant keep up here I see a close one early and the Huskers run away with it late.

Chiefs at Colts.

Are the Colts the Jekyll and Hyde of the NFL? Lets recap. The lose their opener then go on to spank the Giants and Denver, only to look pathetic last week against Jville. The Chiefs are 3-0 but have played the powerhouse teams of San Fran, Cleveland, and San Diego. Given these records, the Colts spotty play and their injurys one would think taking the points would be the way to go. Think again. This line opened at Colts -10 indicating that the Bookmakers not only think the Colts will win but will roll them. I agree. This is a statement game and if they lose at home Indianapolis will be in big trouble.

Illinois +9 (500)- Penn State isnt who we are made to believe they are, crappy coaching by U of I wont keep them from covering in Happy Valley.

Michigan State +4.5 (500) Just Like the way State has looked. They play with Swagger. Frankly Bib Blue hasnt played anyone to be scared of and that includes the Irish. In state rivalry I'll take the points.

Temple +3 (500)- Temple has played some very good schools very tough. They almost take a step down in class at Northern. I think they will win outright.

Utah -6 (500) This might be the trap based on the spread, but I am willing to risk it. Utah has been dominant and they are ranked #6 so why so little points to an average big 12 team? I think the books are falling in love with the bigger conf. my guess is Utah rolls once again.

Nebraska -10.5 (500) Dont believe the "under the thursday night lights hype" Nebraska is a very stout defense, and Martinez can move the ball on the ground all night when needed. K-State is giving up ground yardage in chunks and allows on average over 170 yards per game. Nebraska also averages 40pts a game while only giving up 12. This s the Big Twelve opener and Nebraska has had two weeks to prepare. I like the Huskers by two TD's at least.

I was googling "Lions Cheerleaders" for a photo to go with this weeks pick. These weren't the cheerleaders that I was looking for, however, I find the photo acceptable and admire these ladies for their team spirit.

Wow. Was week two a complete turnaround for the Colts! The Colts absolutely pounded the Giants with the dual attack of Addai and Brown. I mean the Colts manhandled the Giants defense with a running attack! I had my concerns early on but the Colts looked to good not to put action on them this week.

Iowa -28 (500pts) After a tough loss, that included a big comeback on the road vs a previously underrated Arizona team. Testicle Tech will have their hands full at kinnik with Stanzi and co.
Northwestern -6.5 (500pts) The Cats are 3-0 they havent played the best teams , but they havent played god awful either. At home vs a suspect mac team giving less than a Tuddy.

Oklahoma -14 (500pts) exposed by the Air Force Cadets? or product of Air Forces offensive system? Actually I say a little of both, but much more of last weeks close win was the way Air force blocks and runs the ball out of mutiple sets and options. You need to be disciplined, which speed / power teams like the higher level schools often are not. Oklahoma this week goes back to playing a team with a traditional offense who will try and man up with them, and hence will get run out of their own stadium as the Sooners try to make a statement bouncing back on the road at Cinci.

Michigan +3.5 at Notre Dame

The Wolverines looked extremely solid in last weeks opener. I told you they would roll their opponent in stunning fashion and thats exactly what the did in their impressive 30-10 victory over UCONN

Notre Dame looked less than impressive in their luke-warm triumph over the Boilermakers.

Denard Robinson was more than impressive. This kid has got mad skillz and he alone accounted for 383 yards of offense.

Bottom Line: That stupid leprechaun gets kicked in the nuts.

week 2- Lingerie Football? Hot or Strange? You make the call!

Now that you have been analyzing this picture for at least a minute. (And you know you have) Its time to analyze some picks. Week 1 was a good start, but this as the cliche goes, is a marathon not a sprint. I have been looking back at my picks the last few years, and frankly week one has always been good for me, you typically know what to expect and spreads are a bit out of wack and the books are trying to figure out, much like this picture, whos hot and who is not. Week two I have traditionally had a let down, as I am still guessing and the books have figured it out. the moral of the story is dont jump on a bandwagon for a team because they had a blowout victory over a bad team that was supposed to be good. The reality is the team was bad and got over hyped by the Eastern Prickface Shmutz Network. This year I am being a bit more pragmatic and following logic and reason. Here are week twos picks.

Ohio State -8.5 (500 pts) So my first thought was, pretty middle of the road give on points for the #2 team at home against a top 15 team. Then I watched the Marshall-West Virginia game. OSU smoked Marshall. Marshall almost knocked off a ranked team. Albeit WVU is a low rank team, but still ranked. So whats up, WVU that bad? or OSU that good? I will take OSU giving a tad more than a TD at home and figure that Jacorie, Jacory or Ja' Korey is gonna find a way to throw 3 picks and watch the Buckeyes run away with it.

San Jose State +40 (500 pts) The thought here is simple. SJSU lost on the road to Alabama. By 45 points. Bama is teh number 1 team in the country! Wisconsin my guess is an overrated #11. SJSU running backs averaged 4yds per carry against bama. I dont care what you say, thats respectable, and teh badgers aint no Bama! The sheer nature of wisconsins and for that matter the big ten's game is ground and pound, control the clock. They will win big, but not by 40!

Idaho +28 (500pts) To even my amazement I am looking at this saying WTF? The fact is this is a lot of points to give a team coming off an 8-5 bowl winning season, who has a 3 year starter at QB and whom won last week by 45 points against (dont laugh) A very good 1AA team. Nebraska has a good QB, but he is still young and will make mistakes. Simply put I like the points. Nebraska wins but doesnt cover.

the 2010 season is finally here, while the Hiatus has been long the, the knowledge learned is great. I learned last year that picks based on anything said on ESPN is pure horseshit! Just dont do it! Secondly, the more things change the more they stay the same. The offseason was full of stories about the changing conference landscape, hogwash! At the end of the day, nothing really changed and as always, the almighty dollar rules everything! As for today here are the picks:

Illinois +13 (500 pts) No respect this year means the Illini will exceed expectations, in the past when the expectations where high they let us down. too many points here.

Notre Dame -10.5 (500pts) - ND has always had the talent, now I believe they have a coach. Purdue mehh!

Michigan State -23 (500pts) Western Mich doesnt have there QB that is a crappy 4th stringer for the bears now. State rolls

Who Will Be This Years Best Football Prognosticator Ever?

The Sedge Court Journal is pleased to announce the rules and prizes for the 2010 Sedge Court Journal Football Handicapping Competition. Once again we are refining the rules to make our picks better and more useful for our readers! These improvements will continue to demonstrate our position as the "undisputed" leader of Free Football Pick Websites!!!!

Changes:

A. No Pre-Season Picks!!!!!! No ones heart was into it and hey---it's the pre-season!

B. Maximum of 5 picks per week!!!! Were testing skill here. Not the ability to dig yourself to a .500 weekly record by betting 39 games a week!

C. $100 bones for each and every capper who achieves a 80% ATS record by the end of the season!!!!

1.) Every Capper will be allocated 10,000 points at the beginning of the College Kick-off. The competition will officially end after the Superbowl.

2.) Cappers are required to make a minimum of 3 picks per week. There is a maximum of 5 picks per week. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Weeks begin on Tuesday and end on Monday. (i.e. Monday Night Football is the last game of the week)

3.) Picks can be Over/Unders or Point Spread Sides. (Moneyline, Teasers, Parlays, or Prop Bets are not allowed)

4.) Minimum Bet 100 points / Maximum Bet 1000 points

5.) Each capper is required to Post the current line available at Nine.com and the amount of Sedge Court Money they are wagering at the time that the Pick is posted. Failure to comply will result in the pick not being counted. If points are not posted at the time of the pick it is assumed the pick was 100 points.

*Note: A email is sent to the webmaster when the pick is posted. This email is timestamped and is the official record for disputes.

6.) All picks are required to be posted at least 1 1/2 hours prior to kick-off. Picks posted within 1 1/2 hours of kick-off will not be counted.

7.) Every Capper is allowed to miss one week and not required to release picks.

8.) Missed picks will be counted as a loss in the record and 100 points per missed pick will be deducted from the Cappers Sedge Court Money Account.

9.) After nine (9) missed picks (including the cappers bye week) the capper will automatically be disqualified from the competition and ineligible to receive any prize money.

10.) AFC/ NFC Championship Week and Superbowl Week will be combined into one week in order for cappers to meet the three pick minimum requirement.

11.) Capper accounts can dip into negative values, however they will be prohibited from winning any prize money if they finish the season with a negative balance (even if that happens to be the best record).

12.) The Sedge Court Journal is not required to inform Cappers when and if they are in danger of losing and/or have been disqualified from eligibility to receive prize pool money. It is the responsibility of each capper to read and understand the rules of the Sedge Court Journal Football Handicapping Competition.

14.) Rules changes will be considered until 12:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009.

Prize Money and Handicapping Title:

A minimum $400 cash prize prize has been established and will be divided equally between the following two winners.

Best Football Prognosticator: This title will be awarded to the Capper who has the greatest percentage increase in the value of his Sedge Court Money Account. (2008 Winner: Vegas Predictor)

Best Winning Percentage: This title will be awarded to the capper with the greatest winning percentage. (2008 Winner: AlDawg)

The 2008 prize pool will be a minimum of $400 and a maximum of 25% of the Sedge Court Journals Ad revenue from the Adsense Program. In addition any capper who achieves a season end record of greater than 80% ATS is entitled to a bonus of $100. Prize money will be allocated provided the following criteria are met:

a.) Never miss more than 6 picks throughout competition.

b.) Release all picks in prior to 1 1/2 hours before kick-off

c.) Consistently adds value by providing insightful or humorous content throughout the duration of the season.

d.) The Sedge Court Journal reserves the right to decrease/eliminate the payout if the winning capper(s) is deemed to be lacking in insight and/or humor.

Participation is free and is open to any individual who has a passion for Football and/or Handicapping. Interested individuals should submit a request to the Big Kielbasa at keilbasa@sedgecourtjournal.com.

Arizona @ New Orleans - Cardinals +7 - 1000 points - The Saints finished the season poorly and with no momentum. Kurt Warner has a big game.

Arizona @ New Orleans - Under 56.5 - 1000 points - Conventional wisdom says this'll be another high scoring affair. I disagree. The Arizona defense was embarrassed a bit last week and will be out to prove a point against the Saints.

Baltimore @ Indy - Colts -6 - 1000 points - The Colts have a lot to prove and seem to have the Ravens number. I don't see Peyton being too fazed by "Rayenthal" and his crew.

The Bronco's are definitely a strong defensive unit, but Manning has played this game before and should have no problems at home. First off what a day here in Gainesville, Tebow's last game in the swamp versus the hated Seminoles, this place is going absolutely insane.... As much as I want to lay the lumber with Gators 25 pts is too much to mess around with. Gators will roll but a backdoor cover or fluke moose play at the end could screw up that bet so we go with the following for what should be a great week in college football.

Georgia Tech (-7.5) 1000 units
The Bulldogs will be without their best player (AJ Green) plus their mascot just died, Dogs can't hang with the option, GT wins by 10+ in a high scoring afair....

Duke Blue Devils (+5) 1000 units
Never in my life would I be so stoked to get Duke at home plus points in college football, but this year is different, great QB play, a pesky defense and the next thing you know Duke is actually pretty good. This game will be a roller coaster but senior day at home for Duke ends their season with a bang. I look for the outright upset in this one....

Here is how the Aldawg is rolling this fine Thanksgiving day:

Green Bay -11 over Detroit (1000 Dawg bones) - This is going to be bloody. Detroit is going down hard hard hard.

Oakland +13.5 over Dallas (1000 Dawg bones) - I say Oakland makes a game out of this. Their pass D is good and Romo has been struggling. Barbar can't run for shit anymore and this game will be much closer than two touchdowns.

Giants -6.5 over Denver (1000 Dawg bones) - The G Men will be pumped up for this Thanksgiving spotlight. With Orton down for the count, I see an ass beating here.
